I am a native German and a professional translator for 20 years. During this time I specialized in technical, medical, legal, IT and website translations. Over the past years, I have also translated a couple of books (novels) for both well-known international authors and emerging writers. I offer my clients high-quality translations and always respect given deadlines. Furthermore, I am a good communicator and flexible team worker.
Bilingual Italian-German, I was defined a walking cat-tool by many colleagues. I speak English, German,Spanish, Portuguese,Dutch and of course Italian fluently, plus Arabic and French. What I adore most about languages, is that they allow you to define yourself in many ways and never miss a word to describe feelings and experiences. As Calvino said, "without translation I would be limited to the borders of my country..".
Born in Hamburg, living in Italy since 1992, studied translation by myself, since 1995 certified "Inteprete turistico" from the Province of Piacenza e since 2012 sworn translator at he court of Piacenza and registered Expert for German language at the Chamber of Commerce of Piacenza
Born and raised in the Italian Alps, fluent in Italian and German, interested in open-source journalism and content marketing. I completed my first Bachelor course in Modern Languages in December 2018 majoring in applied linguistics and economics, and I am currently attending a second one in Media and Communication Sciences. I have been translating for about a couple of years now and I am looking for new opportunities as a freelance translator and proofreader for Italian and German.
- Excellent communication skills acquired during the last 20 years as a freelancer
Organisational / managerial skills
- Outstanding organisational / managerial skills gained as the managing director of my own translation agency and my export company
- Professional language skills acquired during more than 20 years as a self-employed translator/interpreter for various clients in all kinds of trades
I started translating and consecutive interpreting while at university and kept on doing this on an "as needed" basis during my professional life. Now, as I am retired, I have been keeping on with translations and interpretations on a freelance basis.
I'm Ph.D. in Political Studies (Università di Roma "La Sapienza"), member of the editorial board of the "Nuova Rivista Storica" and of the SOG 18 (Society for 18th Century Studies on South Eastern Europe), University of Graz.
I studied perfectly Latin at High School and sustained at the university several exams of English, German and French Language and Culture practicing my translation skills while writing my Master Thesis with proficiency. I pursued further skills working with contracts, patents, diplomatic documents and treaties which unfortunately I cannot show for reasons of confidenciality. Finally I improved my knowledge of Serbian during my stay in Belgrade for my Ph.D. researche.
My method of work is based on a deep respect of the original text, in consideration of the risk bringed by a too literal translation.

I've been working as a translator, UX-writer and copywriter from English to German and Italian for mobile games since 2015.
Due to my experience with in-game app translation, I have a good feeling for out of context string translation and am very good in problem-solving when the source text provides obstacles for my native languages. I'm very precise and accustomed to doing a language quality assurance assessment after a finished task to see the translations in their final place and guarantee best language quality for any given product.
In addition to the translation skills I've acquired, I've also learned a fair bit of UX writing and copywriting over the years and have to apply myself in copywriting almost every day by now.
My translation and copywriting experience is very broad within games. Not only have I been translating in-game strings and stories but I've also been creating social media posts tailored to specific events with great user reach results.
