I am Hidayah Zulkipli, a Malay-English freelance translator certified by the Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books (ITBM). Since 2016, I have been taking on translation jobs during my summer holidays while studying at SOAS, University of London. After graduating, I have continued on this path as I found that I had a knack for translating meaning from one language to another, thanks to my background as a locally-bred Malaysian, my years as a student in the United Kingdom, and my love for travel and media.
My past experience working for Selangorkini, a local Malaysian news company, as a remote translator for their English and Malay articles trained me to deliver my translation work efficiently as I had to meet a 6-hour deadline for an average of 2500-word articles everyday. Other than that, I have done translations for Vitagen, Kyushu University and Translators without Borders.
As an adept Senior System Analyst, I have well rounded background in software requirements and software development for various industries including human resource, finance, healthcare, aviation, travel and tourism and eCommerce.
My working experience also gave me 8 years translation experience especially during my requirements gathering stage. My expertise in various skills make me a great addition to any project.
