I hold a Ph.D. in Asian Languages & Cultures, with expertise in the history of China-Tibet relations. I also hold an M.A. in Chinese Language and Civilization and a B.A. in Chinese Language and Culture.
Unlike many translators, I resided for a long time both in Asia and in North America, speaking, reading, and writing every day in my source languages as I sharpened my Chinese and English linguistic skills; and as I deepened my knowledge of translation, in theory and in practice, across the cultures and regions of East Asia, Europe, and North America.
Beyond Chinese and English, I also received a formal training in Modern and Classical Tibetan. Along with my other linguistic skills, including native skills in Italian, and near-native skills in English, my training in Tibetan makes me the ideal translator of books, articles, essays, and digital content in the broad areas of East Asian literature, history, culture, religion, and philosophy.
